Our Wedding

Their story is one of the long run. When they met Freshman year at Auburn University there was an immediate spark.Ashlyn needed a date to her semi-formal Freshman year at Auburn. Her friend group at the time had made friends with some of Carter’s friends, many of whom were already attending the semi-formal. Ashlyn was shown a picture of the guys she could be set up with and ended up picking Carter without knowing that choice would change everything.Right away the two hit it off at Ashlyn’s semi-formal and spent the night out with friends, laughing and talking like they had known each other for years. You may think that the rest is history, but again, their story is about the long run.It took until Senior year for Ashlyn and Carter to come together. In the years leading up to their relationship, a friendship blossomed. They texted constantly about anything and everything - school, family, relationships, etc. It got to the point where they knew everything about each other. They became best friends.Over time Carter began to develop deeper feelings for Ashlyn while Ashlyn had kept those feelings for Carter through the years. On the night of the Iron Bowl in 2020, Carter walked Ashlyn home and finally gathered the courage to tell her what all of their friends already knew. They were more than friends.After several months of dating, Ashlyn made the brave decision to move up to Chicago knowing no one other than Carter. They have since built a life together in the city they call home.While the journey has been beautiful so far, now is just the beginning of the long run for Ashlyn and Carter.

Annapolis is one of our favorite waterfront cities, and we hope you'll have time to explore while you're in town! Spend an afternoon strolling Main Street and the City Dock, watching the boats cruise through Ego Alley, and taking in the sailboats that fill the harbor.	 For great local dining, grab breakfast at Iron Rooster or Chick &amp; Ruth's Delly, enjoy fresh Maryland seafood at Cantler's Riverside Inn or Boatyard Bar &amp; Grill, and treat yourself to dinner at Osteria 177. 	For a casual afternoon or evening, two of our favorite spots are Bourbon.Beer.Provisions and McGarvey's Seafood Tavern. If you're looking to explore more of Annapolis, we recommend visiting the United States Naval Academy, touring the Maryland State House, or booking a sunset sail aboard the Schooner Woodwind for incredible views of the Chesapeake Bay. 	We can't wait to celebrate with you in a city that holds such a special place in our hearts, and we hope you enjoy discovering everything that makes Annapolis so special.

There are plenty of wonderful Airbnbs and vacation rentals nearby as well — feel free to choose whatever option fits your group best!

Can I bring a guest?We’d love to celebrate with everyone, but due to limited space, only those listed on your invitation are invited. Thank you for understanding and helping us keep our celebration intimate and meaningful.

What should I wear?We’re asking guests to join us in formal attire as we celebrate this special day. Think timeless and elegant — suits for gentlemen, and long dresses for ladies. We can’t wait to see the beautiful faces we love all dressed up!

What is the parking and transportation situation for the ceremony and reception?Both our ceremony at St. Anne's Episcopal Church and reception at the Annapolis Yacht Club are located in the heart of quaint, historic downtown Annapolis. Because parking in the area can be limited—especially on weekends—we highly recommend using Uber or Lyft so you can enjoy the day without worrying about finding parking or moving your car between venues. If you do choose to drive, several public parking garages are located within walking distance of both venues, but we encourage allowing a little extra time to park and make your way to the ceremony.
